Old Harvard Road Residence, Addition, 1993-94

Cormack Construction constructed this addition in 1993-94. It is located on beautiful Squam Lake, in New Hampshire. Patricia Sherman, architect of Warren Street Architects, conceived of the bridge to link a secluded master bedroom suite to the existing house.

The master suite features a large, 16' x 27', bedroom/living space with fireplace, a full bathroom with shower and large tub, a dressing room and a walk-in closet. Large windows, with glazing free of any mullion or muntin lines, bring the green woods and sunlight indoors, evoking a feeling of freedom in the tranquility of the woods.

This solution to a difficult site provided much-desired seclusion and privacy for the owners, away from the hustle and bustle of an often guest-filled main house.
