This gorgeous home overlooks the shores of Squam Lake. The photo at left shows the house as it appeared when newly built in 1985. The present-day look of the home is dramatically different, as numerous renovations and additions have taken place over the years.
The most recent project consisted of a massive renovation and addition. The addition features an incredible screened porch composed of granite slab floors and granite pillars that support a second floor office.
Special Douglas fir beams were shipped in from Washington State; we carved the ends of one of them into the stylized head and tail of a fish. The addition also features an outdoor sunken ceramic mosaic hot tub surrounded by more granite slabs.
The basement of the addition houses a wine cellar and sauna; the other levels contain bedrooms and bathrooms. Because of a high water table, the basement presented a special challenge; we resolved the problem with the help of Bentonite clay.
