Lake Home Renovation & Addition in Madison, NH
This 7,000-square-foot renovation and addition project along the shores of Silver Lake in Madison, New Hampshire, includes a significant transformation of an existing waterfront residence to support a growing family and multi-generational use. The scope of work included a wide array of upgrades, reorganizations, and expansions across the main house and garage. TMS Architects developed the design in close collaboration with our design team.
A significant portion of the project focused on expanding the existing two-car garage, doubling its size to create a four-car garage with cohesive rooflines and architectural detailing that seamlessly integrated with the original home. Our team completely renovated the second floor of both the original and new garage wings, creating increased finished space that our client can use flexibly for guests, storage, offices, or recreational needs.
Interior renovations to the main residence included reconfiguring an oversized primary bedroom suite, strategically dividing it into two separate bedrooms, each retaining lake views and ample natural light. We fully renovated two existing bathrooms with new fixtures, finishes, and layouts, and added two bathrooms to accommodate expanded family and guest use. The laundry room was relocated to improve accessibility and flow, with the new location designed to optimize utility and storage.
Additional improvements included selective finish upgrades, mechanical updates, and interior reprogramming throughout the home to enhance energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term functionality.A Reimagined Lakeside Home for a Growing Family
