Set along the quiet waterfront of Two Mile Island in Meredith, NH, this 3,000-square-foot cabin underwent a complete interior renovation, transforming a beloved seasonal retreat into a finely crafted year-round home. Accessed by a winding gravel driveway that weaves through the woods, the project includes several structures, including a newly constructed garage featuring beautifully detailed cedar overhead doors that echo the rustic New England character of the main home.
The renovation involved the complete demolition of all interior finishes, as well as selective remediation work and a comprehensive redesign of the home’s interiors, three-season porch, and surrounding deck. The exterior retains its timeless red cedar shingle siding and warm oak paneling, reinforcing the home’s classic lakeside cabin aesthetic. Landscaping was completed in collaboration with RKLA Landscape Architects to sensitively integrate the architecture with the surrounding island terrain.
A key feature of the renovation was the custom kitchen, designed in partnership with Craig & Company, a New York and Chicago-based architecture and interiors firm. The kitchen combines modern functionality with timeless craftsmanship, featuring painted maple cabinetry built in our woodshop, a farmhouse-style apron-front sink, integrated panel-ready appliances, and elegant brass hardware.
We reorganized the interior spaces to improve flow and enhance natural light, with oak tongue-and-groove wall paneling and custom-built cabinetry throughout the open-concept living space.
