Custom Home on Silver Lake in New Hampshire

We are pleased to announce that Cormack Construction Management received a 2025  New Hampshire Home Builders Association (NHHBA) Cornerstone Award for Home of the Year on January 26. The award-winning project featured a custom home built on Silver Lake in New Hampshire.

Elevated Craftsmanship Meets Natural Serenity

Set against the tranquil backdrop of Silver Lake, the award-winning residence is a 6,600-square-foot custom home that merges elevated craftsmanship with natural serenity. Built in close collaboration with Samyn-D’Elia Architects, the home offers a modern interpretation of the timeless lake house, honoring its landscape while delivering a layered, detail-rich living experience.

A meticulously crafted Douglas fir TimberPeg® frame anchors the structure, infusing the interior with warmth and structural integrity. The building envelope incorporates structural insulated panels for maximum energy performance, paired with an insulated concrete foundation that allows the home to sit confidently within its site while remaining open to expansive lake views. A sweeping eyebrow roof frames the formal entry, leading to a custom arch-top sapele wood-and-glass entry door that welcomes visitors into a richly articulated interior.

Exterior materials were selected for authenticity and permanence, including Brava composite cedar-shake siding and standing-seam copper roofing. A detached garage mirrors the architectural language of the main residence, while native landscaping, hand-laid stone walkways, a constructed sand-and-boulder beach, a full dock, and a forested path create a seamless connection between the home and the lake’s edge.

Inside, the home unfolds as a sequence of highly curated spaces shaped by months of collaboration with Chicago-based interior designer, Carol Carani of Stonewood Bay Company.  An extensive set of detailed shop drawings enabled Cormack Construction Management’s in-house woodshop to fabricate every interior element.

The residence features dual kitchens constructed of poplar and ash, complete with integrated charging stations, inset lighting, glass-faced cabinetry, panelized appliances, and a custom stainless-steel hood surround. Custom cabinetry extends throughout the home, unified by a consistent architectural language and executed to exacting standards.

The primary bath features sleek, minimal detailing, including hand-painted tiles from Tabarka Studio, and concealed linear shower drains.

The great room opens to soaring ceiling heights beneath a monumental Marvin Ultimate floor-to-ceiling window wall. A grand stone fireplace, anchored by a reclaimed timber mantel, establishes the home's central hearth.

Additional moments of architectural delight include a fully enclosed three-season porch, a cantilevered deck with an integrated outdoor kitchen, custom-designed bunk beds built directly into the timber frame, and a hidden children's play nook nestled beneath the stairs. A dedicated craft room is thoughtfully built out with shelving, cabinetry, and specialty work zones.

Every lighting fixture—sourced from Hubbardton Forge, Visual Comfort, Barn Light Company, Hudson Valley, Currey, and Hinkley—was selected to complement the material palette and the home’s architectural rhythms.
